I thought the server is hosted in Singapore but I'm still getting delay and spike even though I'm from Malaysia. To be honest, it was the sole reason why I chose to play Maple Saga because it was listed as Singapore on gtop100. So is the server bandwidth issue or Maple Saga actually not hosted in Singapore?
Most of our players, including myself, live in south-east Asia and have not reported delays or spikes. The flag on gtop100 is more referencing the source of the support (where the staff resides), than where the server is hosted. For instance, another server on gtop100 has a UK flag, because the admin is based in the UK. Their servers are hosted in Dallas, Texas, not the UK. If you continue to get delays, we can help re-route you through a Singapore proxy and see if that helps. However, this is not a common problem. What is your in-game name?
Most of the time, especially for Malaysian IPs, our host does not like the source of the traffic because there are many infected computers (source of botnet DDoS traffic) throughout SEA. This is what causes the delays, because the host will rate-limit your IP. After re-routing through Singapore, most players found that their lag was gone, because the Singapore IP we use as a proxy is a whitelisted one.
Server is located in France, I know a few Malaysians who complain about terrible connection to EU servers compared to NA for whatever reason. A gaming or regular VPN can possibly help maybe Alex can hook you up.
