I have the same problem. Always brings me back to login screen with the Unable to Connect to Game Server everytime I select character.

Hello, I also have the unable to connect problem. It started happening after the latest patch as of today. I tried to follow your steps but I could find all programs, accesories or the notepad. Also i have windows 8 if you can help me thanks.
