Hello, I've been playing on this server for a few days now with no real issues (originally I was DCing a lot but the recent patch fixed that). Unfortunately this morning I was unable to start the program and kept getting a Microsoft C++ Runtime Library error message. I have included a screen shot below. I restarted my computer a couple times with the same result. The program is run as administrator, and it is in Windows 98/ME compatibility mode. I made sure the program was listed as an exception to my firewall and also disabled my firewall with the same result. Please advise. Thanks.
Hi Yolo, Please follow this guide to get online: http://forums.maplesaga.com/index.php?threads/disconnecting-fix-must-read.66/ Thanks, Alex
Hi Alex, Thanks for your reply. I tried it out but unfortunately, I am unable to access the hosts file. I am using windows 10. Maplesaga was working fine yesterday. This is what happens when I follow the file location. As you can see, the hosts file doesn't seem to be in the etc folder. If I run a search for 'hosts' I get taken to the proxy server configuration option in the control panel. Would I be able to do it through that?
UPDATE: If I run a search for the 'hosts' file in my C drive I am finally able to find it (it was in the right file location but for whatever reason it wasn't showing up the other way). Unfortunately, even after following the instructions I still get the C++ runtime error.
so i am also experiencing this issue now, was working fine last night and now i cant play. i tried the HOST fix but it did not work. I have also tried re installing everything and still no go
I third this, was working just fine yesterday, but now I cant get on with the same runtime error. have windows 10, the patch and running in comparability.
There are reasons for why we don't package the following client with our official installer. However, you're welcome to use it to connect: https://mega.nz/#!4V4TAJ7T!FblpgBydxq67SFn4t_bkmJ8cijFZaV009e1XuMlPkX0 @painfist @Eros @YoloSwaggins
Hi Odin, I'll be looking for a better long-term solution for this, but you should use @Soup's guide, found here: http://forums.maplesaga.com/index.php?threads/mac_os-how-to-patch-your-client-manually.135/ and install the new client found here: https://mega.nz/#!4V4TAJ7T!FblpgBydxq67SFn4t_bkmJ8cijFZaV009e1XuMlPkX0. Make sure to rename it MapleSaga.exe though (it should not stay as MapleSaga_SINGLE.exe). Alex
Hello, I just got back from a work stint. The Maple Single exe file fixed the problem for me. This was applied on top of the original download and the patch regarding the DC issues. Thank you very much Alex. Happy mapling everyone!
