Hey everyone, For a while now, many of you have been facing against the ultimate challenge in the game: Chaos Horntail. As you know, this boss is no joke, and only the most skilled players will be able to take it down. But with such a monumental fight, the rewards should match the difficulty! Many of you may remember that the prizes for Pianus, Papulatus, Zakum, The Boss and Castellan Toad were all democratically decided by the community in 2016. That's correct - players, as well as some of the Gamemasters at the time, helped to decide the prizes for all the bosses on MapleSaga! Continuing this tradition, I wanted to open up a discussion to brainstorm what kind of epic prizes and rewards we’d like to see for taking down Chaos Horntail. Think about the kind of loot, cosmetics, or achievements that would make the victory feel truly rewarding. Here are a few things to consider: Gear/Items: Should we see powerful endgame equipment, rare crafting materials, or something completely unique to Chaos Horntail? Cosmetics: Maybe special NX equipment, chairs or mounts? Consumables: Rare potions, scrolls or buffs that could only be earned from Chaos Horntail, adding a strategic advantage in future fights. Other Ideas: What about unlockable content, like secret areas, game enhancements (like quality of life enhancements), or special game modes that open up after killing Chaos Horntail multiple times? Let’s get creative here – I want to hear what kind of rewards would make defeating Chaos Horntail feel like the epic accomplishment it deserves to be. What’s the ultimate prize in your eyes? Looking forward to hearing all your ideas, and happy Mapling!
IGN : Body Hi Alex I think it would be best to have the CHT rewards focused on: Some of us would feel the best rewards from CHT should be focused on: Gear/Items: Final end-game equipment as well as chance of obtaining CHT pendant. Mount Upgrade: Unlocking Mount up to lv 60 based on your corruption level WS: chance of obtaining ws from cht when corruption +20
One FreeMamie's feet pics upon completion of the raid sounds fair to me I guess one of the things I would suggest since CHT is rarely completed and an item thats worth competing for would be a clean slate scroll
I want another girlfriend Alex Or at least if they don't get the +1 in corruption, they should also have a low percentage, so they get a compensation one ws because theyre hitting for 40 minutes. You know that's 40 minutes of hitting that gei
IGN: lmprobis Below are my thoughts on prizes for Chaos Horntail (CHT): Chaos Horntail Pendant: Killing Chaos Horntail should allow a chance (100%) for a Chaos Horntail Pendant (CHTP). This CHTP should offer more stats/upgrade slots than the original Horntail Pendant (HTP). The use of Chaos Scrolls to upgrade the CHTP is fine. I envision this similar to Chaos Zakum and Chaos Zakum Helmets. Shop: A shop would be available to all players who have a corruption level of one (1) or higher. The currency for this shop could be a coin given after each successful kill of the CHT. The amount of coins given per successful kill could be a random amount from one (1) to three (3) (similar to Neo PQ). This shop would offer Chaos Scrolls, White Scrolls (maybe), Corruption Scrolls, Cosmetics (mounts, equips, etc.), Mount Gachapon Coupons, Mount Box where you can choose the mount, an item to upgrade current equipment, Permanent VIP teleport rock/Owl of Minerva, Buying Skill Books(?). IF WHITE SCROLLS ARE OFFERED IN THIS SHOP, THEY SHOULD COST 10x MORE COINS THAN CHAOS SCROLLS. My vision for this shop is to (at minimum) reward players who are killing CHT with a Chaos Scroll because the players can sell the Chaos Scroll to get their raid entry fee back, and most players who are able to defeat CHT are looking for Chaos Scrolls. If this store were to be implemented, I would set Chaos Scrolls to two (2) coins and White Scrolls to twenty (20) coins. The item to upgrade current equipment should work similarly to corrupting a weapon. Once you purchase the item and use it on a piece of equipment, more slots are added to the equipment, allowing for more upgrades. The scrolls should be similar to corruption scrolls. Maybe have this item add five (5) slots. The scrolls used to upgrade the equipment would be purchased in the shop. The scrolls could maybe add +3 all stats for the first three (3) scrolls. The last two (2) scrolls could add one (1) weapon attack and +3 all stats. Chaos Horntail Buff: The buff adventurers receive upon entering CHT after obtaining a corruption level of one (1) or higher should activate for ALL bosses once the player's corruption level reaches ten (10) or higher. A Medal: This medal would be awarded to players who defeat the CHT after "x" number of times. Similar to Chaos Zakum Vanquisher. I do think the stats of this medal should be higher than all medals--maybe +2 weapon attack and +5 all stats. These are the only ideas I came up with so far--haha! I am personally not a fan of introducing a whole new equipment (i.e. Weapon) as a prize for defeating the last boss. I believe CHT is intended to be the final boss, so having a way to upgrade current gear seems to make more sense than ANOTHER gear we need to White Scroll and 10% scroll. I do like the sound of your "Other Ideas" section; however, I am not creative enough to think of what could be unlocked. If you read this far, you are a real Pr0! Happy Mapling and best of luck on Raids<3 Sincerely, Mike (the not Pr0 hero)
additional chaos skill to make skills last longer, troublesome to get se every 5min. chaos scroll 100% chaos toad, chaos tb, chaos scarga, chaos pianus, chaos papu weapons and eqbs for beginner! unique skill, turn exp into mesos!
IGN: Xaaaj I’d like to propose a Chaos Skill System, unlocked through CHT. The system aims to bring more creativity, customisation, and playability to Saga’s endgame. How to Unlock • Upon passing Corruption +1, the character automatically unlocks the Chaos Skill System. • This makes the character eligible to obtain one Chaos Skill. Obtaining Chaos Skills • Each week, 5 different Chaos Skill Books (1 skill from each class) are available in the CHT shop after server reset. • Cost: 5 CHT Badges per book. (Badges are obtained from successful CHT runs.) • Chaos Skill Books allow characters to learn a skill without class restrictions. • Example skills: Sharp Eye, Shadow Partner, ACA, Time Leap, Magic Guard, Flash Jump, Teleport, Power Stance, etc. • Each character may only learn one Chaos Skill. Levelling Chaos Skills • Max skill level is capped by Corruption Level. • Talk to the CHT NPC to upgrade skills using CHT Badges. • Success rate scales by level (example): > Lv. 1–10: 30% success > Lv. 11–20: 20% success > Lv. 21–30: 20% success, with 10% chance of -1 level Why This System • Individual Impact: Adds depth and personalisation. Players can decide whether to enhance DPS (e.g. Shadow Partner, Critical Shot), utility (e.g. SE, SI, Holy Shield), or QoL (e.g. Flash Jump, Teleport, Stance). • Server Impact: More flexible party compositions. Essential buffs aren’t locked behind specific classes, reducing the difficulty of raid recruitment. This is especially helpful against a backdrop of declining player population, where fewer active players means fewer available buff mules. • Community Impact: May attract inactive players back, since it adds a fresh, creative layer to endgame progression. Other Considerations • Skill Pool: Only a curated list of skills should be available. Their stats can also be balanced for fairness. • Reset Option: Allow players to reset their Chaos Skill (with cost/penalty). • Bidding System: Since some skills (e.g. SE, Shadow Partner) may be more desirable, a bidding mechanic could be implemented for fairness. ⸻ In short, this system would bring a fun layer of customisation, keep CHT relevant long-term, and encourage creativity in character-building and raid composition.
