Welcome to MapleSaga! By registering for a game account on our server, you agree to the terms and conditions stated below. The guidelines stated here are subject to change without any notice. Major changes will be announced, but it is YOUR responsibility to frequently check for any updates. Ban durations listed are a generic duration of how long bans for the rule being broken. Many bans will be discussed among staff, but not all will be. Appeals will be discussed thoroughly within the staff. Staff will cast a vote and the result will be determined by the choice majority of the staff have chosen. Ignorance of the information provided here will never be accepted as an excuse. Summary Do not abuse exploits. All exploit reports will be rewarded handsomely - simply contact a Gamemaster in-game. Do not impersonate a staff member. Do not scam other players. Do not harass others. Do not spam. Do not advertise for any other site / game / server. Do not bot. Do not trade / buy / sell in-game currency / items / accounts for real world currency / items. Do not hack. Do not ban evade. The Berzerker Challenge may only be conducted once per day, per active player (not per account). Active players are defined as players who have actively raided, farmed or did party quests for at least 2 hours in the last 3 days of the Berzerker Challenge being done. We reserve the right to confiscate White Scrolls in the event that we believe an inactive player's account is being used specifically for the purpose of earning White Scrolls for another player. Be friendly. When choosing an in-game name or guild name, please use discretion. If it's clear that the name(s) you have chosen are malicious or evading a Nexon-imposed censor (switching i / L's), do not be surprised when you are renamed without notice. Guilds that fall under this category will be disbanded without notice. Whenever possible, please communicate in English If we have a member of staff that can communicate in another language we will be more than happy to deal with your problem in the one you are more comfortable with. Game Use and Restrictions Players agree that the Game Masters (“GMs”) have the ultimate jurisdiction in interpreting, acting, and omitting the Game Use and Restrictions (“Rules”) based on the information and evidence provided. The evidence and information can be obtained through sources outside of gameplay. Game Masters determine the severity of the violation and administer punishments based on their best judgement. Players agree that the decisions made by a Game Master are final, although players are allowed to dispute their case up to one time when given a punishment, only if the appeal is correctly made with the system in place. After appealing a ban, the result of the ban appeal is final and the player will no longer be able to argue their case any further. Players agree to follow the rules stated here. Not all rules will be stated. A Game Master may administer a punishment if they deem that an act is punishable. While using the services provided by MapleSaga, players agree to not: Hack. Hacking is seen as using a 3rd party software to cheat OR editing the WZ files provided by MapleSaga in any way. Punishment: Permanent ban. Real World Trade (RWT) / Real Money Trade (RMT). Real world trade and real money trades are defined as any attempts to sell/trade/buy MapleSaga items or currency for real currency and/or possessions and or currency in other games. Punishment: Permanent ban. Buying goods (items or mesos) with donations is also considered RWT/RMT on MapleSaga. We only allow the purchase of leech services with donation NX. Bug abuse and exploiting. Bug abuse and exploiting is seen as any function of the game that is not working as it is intended to. Any major bugs or exploits should be reported privately to a staff member immediately. Reports will be rewarded handsomely. Any attempts to abuse or take advantage of a bug or exploit will can in Punishment: Permanent ban. Harass other players. Harassment is defined as engaging, transmitting, or taking part of any rude, unlawful, vulgar, obscene, hateful, threatening, and/or abusive behavior, including, but not limited to, sexual comments, homophobic or racial slurs. Punishment: Minor offense: 3 day ban. Serious offense: Permanent ban. Hired Merchants with inflammatory signboards will be closed down without warning. You are allowed to use curse words but any Hired Merchant signboards with pointed remarks towards a player or guild will be closed down. Advertise. Advertising is seen as the activity of producing advertisements for other goods and services. Punishment: Permanent ban. Bot. Botting is seen as using a program that operates as an agent for a user or another program or simulates a human activity. This also includes but not limited to, AFK farming (not responding to a GM in a reasonable amount of time). We have no reliable way to tell if you are using an object of any kind on your keys, using botting tools, or not paying attention. Punishment: Permanent ban. The use of mechanical alterations such as placing physical heavy objects on top of one's keyboard in order to gain an in-game advantage is also considered botting. Spam. Spamming is seen as sending the same message indiscriminately to (large numbers of recipients) on the Internet. Punishment: Muting. Ban evade. If you are banned then you must serve your ban. If you do not serve your ban then you will receive double your punishment. Just a few additional notes: GMs here are also regular players. We don't mind helping out players, but when we are on our legitimate / player characters, we don't necessarily like to be treated as a member of staff. When we are on our GM characters, we are willing to help with whatever players need, as long as it is in our power to do so. Feedback is HIGHLY appreciated! Could you go in to further detail about vote abuse? I have 2 accounts. Do I not have permission to vote for maple points on both accounts even if I provide a legit vote for each account? One using my home internet and one using 4g LTE phone service?
@Star Just a suggestion but perhaps this thread should be on the first page of the forum as a separate thread rather than inside the Announcement section? It wasn't obvious (at least for me it wasn't) that it's in the announcement thread because the T&Cs aren't really announcements? Patch notes are, T&Cs aren't. It just makes it easier for new players to find out what the rules of this server are.
