    MapleSaga Ironman Guide

Hello and welcome to the MapleSaga Ironman Guide.

What is Ironman? In MapleSaga, Ironman is a game mode focused entirely on self-sufficiency. This means:
    - No parties or Party Quests
    - No trading with players, including their merchants in the Free Market
    - No access to your storage, Gachapon, VIP dungeons, and MiuMiu's traveling store
    - Only looting drops from mobs you've killed

Why Ironman? Consider Ironman mode as playing MapleSaga on hard-mode. It's a fun way to test your Maple knowledge and challenge yourself without relying on other players' help. In this mode, it's all about the grind and no shortcuts.

    Getting Started
To begin the Ironman Challenge, create a character and head to the Amherst Weapon Store. Inside, you'll need to find the Broken Iron Fragment hidden in a box located in the top-right corner, behind the roof and pipes. Refer to the images below for guidance:

    Maple0000.jpg

    Maple0001.jpg

Once you have the Broken Iron Fragment in your inventory, you are ready to leave Maple Island and embark on your Ironman adventures!

    The Grind
As mentioned earlier, self-sufficiency is crucial in this game mode, so looting everything becomes essential. I recommend getting a pet to accompany you on your adventures. Start hunting for weapons, equipment, scrolls, potions, and more. Check out the MapleSaga library (HERE) to see which mobs drop your desired items. Quests can also be extremely helpful in obtaining specific scrolls and weapons, so make sure to utilize them as well.

    Raiding

Unlike normal raids where parties gather and talk to the raid NPC, the Ironman has to be summoned differently. To be summoned, the Ironman must meet the level requirements for the raid (e.g., Level 95 for Scarlion & Targa) and be waiting outside. The raid host or any party leader can then invite the Ironman by typing "we summon (your IGN)" in all chat. Once you've been summoned as an Ironman, you'll receive a notification. After that, you can talk to the corresponding NPC to enter the raid. Joining a raid as an Ironman grants an additional badge drop at the end. For Ironman characters without prior raiding experience, it's best to wait outside until the raid is complete. Each raid can only have a maximum of one Ironman summoned, but an Ironman can be summoned into multiple ongoing raids simultaneously.

    Entering Raid.jpg
Upon redeeming a badge, you will receive the corresponding coin (e.g., Hera Coin from Scarlion & Targa raid), which you can then exchange for rewards. Please refer to the reward tables below for more details.

    Hera Coin.jpg
Below is the comprehensive list of items exchangeable for reward coins. Please note that the stats of items are randomized, so you may need to make multiple exchanges to get your desired stats.

Can IMs use 2x coupons? Yes.
    Can IMs equip NX? Yes.
Can I raid on one character and mule Ironman on another on the same account? Yes. Please have one of the two party leaders summon you.
Can IM participate in RM raids? Yes, but only for fame and exp. No rewards.
Can IM participate in more than one raid at one time? Yes, as they can be summoned to multiple raids separately.
How many IMs can join any one raid? Only one.
What happens when an IM joins a raid? One additional badge will drop.
Can IMs drop rewards obtained through raids? No.
Can IMs obtain Zak Helmets, Horntail Pendants, etc.? Yes, and like all characters, the rate is not 100%.
Does the IM have to be summoned before the boss is spawned? No. The IM can be summoned and also enter the raid at any point BEFORE the boss dies.

Can IMs be a Blessing of Fairy character and vise-versa? Yes, though at the moment they're not able to obtain Trialblazer Ring (Level 3). So keep that mind.
Can IMs participate in end-game PQs such as CWK/Neo/SPQ? As of right now, no.
Can IMs HP wash? To be confirmed shortly.

Feel free to post any questions below and I'll update the guide when I get the chance.

    Good luck grinding!

    Cheers ~

Thanks for the guide. Some quick questions:

What is the endgame equipment set a+I weapon usually used by an Ironman?

Do Ironman need washing since they can't party for Hyper Body?

How do I get NX? I want to buy 2x cards to train but voting only gives the dungeon pass thing that I can't use as an Ironman.

    Thanks.

You use nx cash you get from voting to buy 2x exp ticket in cash shop. It’s 2k nx I believe.

Which Ironman do you want to play? You can’t go full wash as Ironman and also you won’t be able to get funds to wash out. Maybe... the most you can do is perhaps wash a dark knight, but even that will still be quite tough( you need to earn 200m+ just for washing the Ironman)

I'm sorry but I don't really see the point to wash an IM.
Monsters won't kill you unless you have no more pots or if you try to kill the area bosses like Big Foot, Anego, Kacchu)
But again, I don't even see the point doing these as an assassin, since you won't have any extra buffs, like SE (Sharp Eyes), or MW20/30 (Maple Warrior) it will take forever.
Maybe doing raids? I never saw any IM doing a raid, they come in, log off and then, log in at the end, to take up the badge.
    True
If you wash = using INT gear, adding INT stat. Which means you will legit do 0 DMG (or almost 0). Since you can't be in a party as an IM, you can't be leeched...
So you can get a Mount HP BUFF with the Pirate Treasure doing PPQ (Pirate Party Quest) or from buying the items in the Free Market (Players Store).
Since you are an IM (IronMan) you can't either do PPQ and buying items in the Free Market. I assume PPQ requires a Party, which you're not able to have/make so you can't have this ETC... and as Lucks said
I guess that is the best suggestion

Here the guide of the Mount HP Buff if you're interested for another character : https://forums.maplesaga.com/index.php?threads/mount-hp.11628/

    Conclusion:
You can't wash an IM and IMO it would be a waste of mesos (and it's pointless).
You can still play an assassin, I do not see any problems with being unwashed.

    Hope it helped, have fun

    1) Thanks. It sounds like my only hope would be HP scrolled equips since I can't PQ correct?

    2) What sort of content am I locked out of as an Unwashed Ironman Assassin that I otherwise would've been able to try out as a Washed Normal Assassin?

You're welcome, yes it's correct you can't do PQs:
Can't also get married and have a friendship ring since you need to be in a party. (which both have a HP Buff available, here the guide: https://forums.maplesaga.com/index.php?threads/crush-friendship-ring-hp.11639/)
Area Bosses should be hell to kill (since no extra buffs) + you can't survive to Anego (Female Boss) Slap and Big Foot/Kacchu Body touch/Magic Attack, can't get leech, can't tank magic of some bosses until you're very high level (i.e Castellan Toad, Chaos Zakum deals like +/- 10k Magic, of course the body deals more but just don't touch the body) and you would be raiding without any buffs...-sad-
I think that's all haha, well IronMan is the "hardcore" mode as Lucks said previously.
If anyone got more ideas, feel free to share, thx

basically i think ironman can only grind monster to level. bosses are just meant for you to be summon in and get those coin to exchange a little items you can get.
