    Intro:

    Chaos party quests were released on MapleSaga on April 9th, 2021. At this time, its availability alternates daily with the Chaos Ludibrium Party Quest.

    Basics:

    Where = Kerning City
    Level = 150 ~ 200
    Time allotted = One hour
    Stages = 5
    Max party size = 6
    Min party size = 3

    Building your party:

    Despite the minimum party requirement to be three players, it is strongly recommended to have a full party of six to attempt this PQ. A standard party consists of 3 DPS, 1 SE, 1 mage, 1 pirate. However, this PQ is actually fairly flexible with party composition as long as you're able to clear the mobs effecively in the final stage. Dedicated mobbers must be of different classes, explained in more detail below. Talk to Lakelis in Kerning City to begin the Party Quest.

    ---

    Stage One:

    Kill Ligators (600,000 HP) and collect exact number of coupons based on the question you're given. Players must turn in the coupons at Cloto to receive a pass. Party leader is not given a question and is not required to collect coupons. Once the party leader has passes = x players currently on map - 1, party leader talks to Cloto to proceed.
    • Maple Island = 8
    • STR = 35
    • DEX = 25
    • INT = 20
    • LUK = 25
    • 2nd job = 30
    *tip: if you open your character stat window (default: S), you can hover over "JOB" for most of the answers.

    Stage Two:

    Find the correct combination by trial and error to proceed.

    Three players each hang on one of four ropes. The party leader tests the combination by clicking on <NPC>. One player moves (generally clockwise) to the next rope, then the leader tests again. Repeat until cleared.

    Stage Three:

    Find the correct combination by trial and error to proceed.

    There are five platforms, each assigned a number based on how many kittens are on each platform. Three players stand on 1, 2, 3 to start with, then test each combination by having the last digit move up by one. When the last digit reaches the end (5), the second to last digit moves up and so on and so forth. Party leader tests combination by clicking Cloto as usual.

    Stage Four:

    Find the correct combination by trial and error to proceed.

    Same as stage three. Three players start on barrels 1, 2, and 3 and proceed accordingly.

    Final Stage:

    This is where things get a little more complicated. You'll spend the majority of the party quest on this stage taking down the boss, King Slime, found on the lowest level of the stage. Defeat King Slime and have your party leader turn in the pass that drops to clear the stage and earn your reward.

    The boss:

    King Slime has 350,000,000 HP. It deals ~14.5k touch damage and has a mid-range magic attack that hits deals ~10k magic damage and stuns players on the ground around it. The magic attack can be predicted by when King Slime jumps in the air and can be dodged by jumping before it hits the ground. King Slime also periodically spawns slimes around it. These slimes are best described as meat shields as they have high HP, don't have abilities, and deal very little damage.

    Mobbing:

    Not everyone in your party will face this boss directly, though. Every thirty seconds, job instructor and tauromacis mobs will spawn on the top and middle levels of the stage. Until these mobs are cleared, King Slime will be immune to most damage. The job instructors that spawn will be randomly selected from the Warrior, Bowman, Thief, and Mage classes. Each type of instructor will be immune to damage from their own class (Ex. Night Lords and Shadowers cannot damage the Thief instructor). If the mobs are not cleared in thirty seconds, the party will be mass seduced! Because this is a party quest and not a raid / boss rush, players cannot re-enter upon dying or relogging.

    Therefore, it is important to have two dedicated mobbers (one on each level) to clear the mobs. When either mobber encounters a mob of their own class, they will ask for a swap (abbreviated = "s"), in which case the mobbers will switch levels to continue mobbing until another swap is requested. Having the mobbers be different classes is important here because if they were the same, swapping levels would be ineffective.

    In the event both levels are the same instructor, the other mobber can reply "both" (abbrev. = "b") to let the other know not to come. At this point, the DPS party should come up and help clear mobs to ensure the party doesn't get mass seduced.

    Earlier, we learned the types of instructors that spawn. Note that the Pirate instructor is not among them. This makes Pirates the best mobbing class in CKPQ, as they will never be affected by the same-class damage immunity. Mages are naturally good mobbers as well, but suffer when Grendel clones appear. Warriors are usually better suited for mobbing than DPS because of how often they're stunned while fighting King Slime, but can fill either role. Shadowers also make good mobbers, but asking for help from NLs on mid level becomes difficult. Bowmasters and Marksmen usually assist with mobbing on both platforms and are flexible.
    Dances With Balrog (Warrior) = 450,000 HP, Debuff: darkness
    Grendel The Really old (Mage) = 270,000 HP, Debuff: sealed
    Athena Pierce (Bowman) = 360,000 HP, Debuff: weakened
    Dark Lord (Thief) = 360,000 HP, Debuff: weakened
    Tauromacis (summoned) = made of tissue paper
    Possible Rewards:

    Upon clearing the final stage, each player will earn 500 fame and a chance of one of the following: Random Skillbook, Chaos Scroll 60%, Corruption Scroll 10%. This chance at Chaos or Corruption scrolls, along with the fame, is limited to once per account per day.

    Bonus Stage:

    Has horny mushrooms and green mushrooms. Nothing special about them, except they have a lot of extra HP.

    FAQ:
    Q: How is the EXP?
    A: All EXP vales remain unchanged relative to regular KPQ (Lv20-40), so CKPQ is not a good source of EXP.

    Not the first try. The first completed run gives you a chance at Corruption Scroll 10%/Chaos Scroll 60%. After that, all other completed runs for the day will give you skillbooks (0% chance of scrolls).

    You can try the CKPQ over and over (10+ times) and fail, and still get a chance at getting scrolls at your first completed run.

    Impt note for BM/MM: King Slime can be rushed with Dragon Breath without being in boss's atk range

    A good BM/MM can spam DB and keep boss pinned when CWA is active and have other atkers help mob if needed. When mobs are cleared, BM/MM can atk/go up to rebuff SE.

    Hence, a low hp BM/MM with DB (ideally 21/30 in case there are slimes as well) can boss even without rush/bucc. However, yes there is still risk of BM dying so up to parties' own decision

    CLPQ is different since alishar can't be kb-ed with dragon breath. So rush is essential if BM/MM is low hp

    Putting this out there to hopefully raise awareness and reduce discrimination to BM/MM in ckpq ty
