See also: Medals & Prestige Hey there! This is my version of the pet guide. This guide will include a bit more specific information about how pets work on this server. It was made when @Alvina had their own here but was missing commands. ~~~ Updated on November 14th, 2023 This guide is specifically in regards to this server. As this is a customized v.62 server, doing pet commands specifically can cause a temporary bug on the pet you are using, when it does not follow the command(s) you give it, and suddenly any other command starts to not work. To make this easier, if this happens, you can either enter in a different map, return the pet to your inventory and take it back out, or switch to another pet in your Cash Inventory. But, otherwise with given time, you can use the command again as soon as you see the closeness of the pet increase. It is a bit tedious but this is how I level up my pets at least before Purple Heart Puddings came to be. As of the widescreen patch that was applied many months back, all pets involved are bugged client-side until whatever you use is at Level 15. You will notice this when your pet sits after feeding it and it does not immediately stand up after. Another example is when certain commands that give sounds do not work twice. Once the criteria of it being Level 15 is fulfilled, it should work properly for everyone near you to see. ~~~ Items Spoiler Strange Crate Available in your Cash inventory at start! It contains a random pet, Meso Magnet, Item Pouch and 10 Pet Food. This crate will appear so long as you are able to create a character and have the said character take its first steps in Maple Island. Pet Name Tag (210 Maple Points) One use. You can name your pet! When you use it, go to another map or change channels to see the effect. This can also allow you to command your pet by also using the name. For example, "Piggy sit". Meso Magnet (240 Maple Points) Also obtained by the item Strange Crate! Also obtained by Tia, the NX Assistant, in Free Market! Only works through defeated mobs. Your pet will pick up mesos! Item Pouch (240 Maple Points) Also obtained by the item Strange Crate! Also obtained by Tia, the NX Assistant, in Free Market! Only works through defeated mobs. Your pet will pick up items! Wing Boots (180 Maple Points) Also obtained by Tia, the NX Assistant, in Free Market! This will make your pet walk to nearby meso/items and pick it up! It only works if your pet is holding Meso Magnet and/or Item Pouch. You must not be moving in order for this to work. Binocular (180 Maple Points) Also obtained by Tia, the NX Assistant, in Free Market! This will increase the moving range for the Wing Boots. Auto HP Potion Pouch / Auto MP Potion Pouch Obtained by Tia, the NX Assistant, in Free Market! Your pet will automatically use a set potion you give it when your HP / MP go below the HP Alert / MP Alert specified in your system options. This setting sometimes gets removed when your pet goes back in your inventory. Purple Heart Pudding (100 Maple Points per 1 / 1,000 per 11) This is the universal NX Pet Food that will increase your pet's closeness by 100. It used to be exclusive to Jr. Balrog. Upon usage, it requires a 4 second cooldown before using it again. You can find the Pet Name Tag and the Purple Heart Pudding in the Cash Shop, found at the last page of Pet Use. While most commands do work, some certain commands are not applied in this server specifically - which are crossed off. All pets that do not follow a command on this server makes it look like your pet was fed. You can find 35% of these commands through NPC Doofus located in Henesys Market (nearby the potion shop) though certain books there are not yet "translated" by default. You do not need to carry the command book(s) to use commands for pets, however. To prevent public text spam, you can also type the commands through "To Alliance", "Whisper" (Press Tab while in chat), or "To Spouse". The command will still go through even if it says that there is no one online in that section. Lastly, the "sit" command for the majority of the pets were improperly coded. At Level 1 - 10, your pet will be sad as if you said "no" to it, if it does not go through. At 10 - 20, regardless if it works or not, your pet will assume you're feeding it. In addition, if your pet becomes Level 30, you are required to re-login to enable the final version of your pet. At Level 15, the /pet (insert text) command is unlocked for that certain pet. When having multiple pets, a special effect - through ladders / ropes - can be applied to your character. This is not applied to this server unless you disconnect due to an error somehow and login again. Back in the day (in previous versions of the game and not the server), certain commands - like "stupid" to a Brown Puppy - would make them lose closeness. This does not happen anymore. When your pet is taken out, most of the time your pet would appear sad in someone else's personal view while it is alright on your view. This is normal and is only client-sided. It also happens if you hang on a ladder / rope and do not move while the said person enters in the map. WARNING: Please note that your pet is endlessly holding the loot button. "say / speak / talk" is supposed to work but it does not. "iloveyou" from the Bunny pet does not work. 2/11/17 I told the mechanics to GMAlex recently. All of the "current" pets from the original server was supposed to be properly added but certain pets / commands that are on this server were not released in the USA. This is possibly why some actions that pets do are incorrect; for example when you tell a Level 1 - 9 pet to "sit", it is treated as "no" when they do not follow the command. Level 10 - 30 pets (I have not gotten a pet to Level 20 yet) are treated as if you fed the pet no matter what if you command it to "sit". The pet is not actually fed this way though. 6/2/17 I told the duplicates to GMAlex. The fix will be applied on the next patch. 6/4/17 I will keep a look-out on the new pets that GMAlex will release. It has been moved to a separate area. 5/8/2021 Quality of life updates. I missed a command for Corgi Pup so that is added in. There were certain pets (except Metus / Mors / Invidia) that have "perform" commands. These were untested but I am currently assuming it does not work. The "perform" command is working on Mini Queen so I am assuming it will work on the other pets I separated last time. I missed a command for Golden Pig. Hi... I see some pets with 1200NX have magic days 0, what does it mean? Others have 90 or 30 which mean the pet can stay for 90 or 30 days I think.
Hey there @vuluc88 . This is only client-sided. When you buy the pet, the "magic" supposedly ends in 10 years. You should not have to worry about anything unless the magic does expire.

So it turns out that the pet rings in the Cash Shop are a bit buggy than I thought. The items should not be bought as it is only client-sided anyway.
@Xi Lin Yeah I can explain. The "recommended pets" section just means the pets you can enjoy using overall - and not just it picking up items for you. You do not have to take this hint exactly since anyone can use whatever pet they want though. For example, Mini Yeti (not the pink one) has commands in which are quite unique in terms of animation and sounds. Kino, on the other hand, has animation when using the sit command. When using the sit command for almost every other pet, they only sit for a few miliseconds before they end up standing up again. Depending on your connection, in case if the server is lagging or something, you can see them sitting for a while if needed.
What is the final form for penguin at level 30? I have been feeding the pudding but my level not raising. I’m sad.
Fantastic guide! Very informative. I remember on original maple, there was some kind of quest chain you could do to unlock this feature. It involved the blue flower at the bottom of Ellinia! Is there any way to upgrade our pet's speed to match ours now?
@Zoah Thank you very much! I actually remember that quest now that you mentioned it. Sadly my character has about 600+ quests done and hasn't seen this quest since. Maybe @alex can try adding this in the future... @Tawn After your pet is at Level 30, you have to relog to see the effects. It's the only option you have.
