[macOS] Running MapleSaga using CrossOver Mac

Any idea why whenever i try and multi client, one of the clients would dc or freeze. With 1 client on it runs very well, just has some occasional crashing but not too bad but i cant seem to get 2 clients up simultaneously. I duplicated the bottle.

Hey, so what was the resolution to this issue? I'm having the save issue where I'm getting this message, but I wasn't sure what you were telling SecondSky to do.

Also, if I'm following the directions correctly, we're supposed to install the Windows installer, not either of the 800x600 or 1280x900 Mac installers, right? I keep seeing people talking about installing the HD version (which I'm assuming means they're downloading the 1280x900 Mac installer), but your direction seems to say we should be installing the only Windows option one we have.

I got this to run on my M1 silicon mac as well, but it DCs often in predictable situations (when jumping down a map, when using a certain skill, etc). did you figure out a way to run this more stably?

 

Tried this method, followed each step exactly but my installer hangs forever at the "Installing Unlisted application..." step. At this point if I cancel, Maplesaga will be installed but it's super buggy -- it usually doesn't start, and even if it does start once I log in and select my character it freezes and doesn't let me in. Any ideas? I'm on Catalina 10.15.7.

 

Another freezing issue is second job gunslinger skills when used on mobs (fine when used by themselves)

 

I followed the instructions and reviewed all the steps multiple times, as well as downloaded it multiple times on different resolutions, but, when I click on Maplesaga.exe within CrossOver, it briefly pops up on my dock before shutting down and disappearing from dock almost immediately. Unlike others on this thread, I don't get a black screen or any loading screen. I'm running Big Sur 11.5.2 on M1, I don't know how to fix it! Help!

 

HI! I did everything but after i double click on the maple icon to run, it opens up and the icon bounces but then it disappears and nothing appears.

Hello everyone,

If you are facing issues with game client not starting (icon showing up on dock / getting black screen on client), try quitting some or all your other apps on Mac and then start the game client again.

I faced this issue occasionally and that resolved it, although it's not a guarantee that it would work on your end.

It happens sometimes when other apps are taking up a lot of CPU/GPU computation, especially when you have 28634 open tabs on your web browser.

The first post has also been updated, adding:

• Better content organisation.
• An FAQ section.
  
• Note that the setup is still working on macOS Monterey with CrossOver version 21.
• A known issue on game client freezing when using Energy Blast skill (Marauder, Pirate 3rd job).

 

I'm on macOS Monterey 12.2.1 with CrossOver version 21.0 - I get into the game successfully (past login) but the client crashes/closes whenever I do anything like talk to NPC/go to cash shop, usually within minutes of getting in game. Any idea how I can fix this?

I've tried simulating a reboot on crossover, restarting my laptop and have nothing else running on the machine but the game is still crashing. Would appreciate the help!

 

I've tried multiple times, I'm on Monterey 12.3.1 and haven't gotten any success in launching it. Any suggestions?

 

Hi, I'd like to report some skill issues that'll freeze the client too
As far as what I have tested, nearly ALL MAIN SKILLS YOU NEED AS A PIRATE will freeze your client.
Not sure if it's just me or pirates though, but if you're a PIRATE on Mac, I suggest you leave your macOS at Mojave or lower, else just get a Windows.

Quick Notes:
1. All these issues still happen even when "Performance Enhanced Graphics" is disabled.
2. I'm on macOS Monterey 12.3.1, Crossover version 21.2
3. Skills that you won't use at late/end game are not tested. (eg. Buccaneer's Oak Barrel, Energy Drain etc.)

Buccaneer:

• Freeze only when you hit mobs:

1. Barrage
2. Dragon Strike
3. Shockwave
4. Flash Fist (Already known)

• Freeze when you hit air/mobs:

1. Snatch
2. Demolition
3. Corkscrew Blow (Already known)
4. Energy Blast (Already known)

Corsair:

• Freeze only when you hit mobs:

1. Rapid Fire
2. Flamethrower
   
3. Aerial Strike

• Freeze when you hit air/mobs:

1. Homing Beacon
2. Ice Splitter
3. Gaviota

Were there any error dialog boxes popping up after the client closed?

It sounds like an issue that I have previously encountered when I missed some of the steps under adjusting post-installation settings. Have you changed "Performance Enhanced Graphics" settings? Try leave it as enabled (which is the default).

 

I did but when I launch it I see the icon pop up and it instantly crashes.

Does anyone know how to force quit on CrossOver during raids? On Wineskin it was Command+Q, but I can't seem to do that on CrossOver.

 

Have you tried Option+Command+Q?
